Where to Find Prospects

Finding the right prospects is an important part of the Business Development & Sales role at TicketLine.in.

A good prospect is not simply a person whose phone number you can find. It is an organization, event organizer, group or business that may have a genuine need for TicketLine.in’s event registration, ticketing or related services.

Your objective is to identify real and relevant business opportunities.

1. Start With Your Local Area

Your own town, city and nearby areas are often the best places to start.

Look for organizations and businesses that regularly organize events or may require ticketing or registration services.

Examples include:

  • Cultural organizations
  • Puja committees
  • Clubs and associations
  • Event organizers
  • Coaching and training institutes
  • Sports clubs and organizers
  • Music and dance organizations
  • Theatre and cultural groups
  • Exhibition and fair organizers
  • Community organizations
  • Religious or social organizations
  • Seminar and conference organizers
  • Local entertainment businesses
  • Amusement park or premises

You may already know many potential prospects through your local area and network.

2. Search on Google

Google can help you discover organizations and event organizers in your area.

Try searches such as:

  • event organizers in [city]
  • cultural organizations in [city]
  • event management companies in [city]
  • clubs in [city]
  • upcoming events in [city]
  • conference organizers in [city]
  • sports events in [city]
  • music events in [city]
  • dance events in [city]
  • exhibition organizers in [city]

You can also search for specific types of organizations relevant to your area.

Tip: Search beyond the first few results. Explore websites, social-media pages and event announcements to identify the actual organization or organizer.

3. Use Google Maps

Google Maps can be useful for discovering local organizations and businesses.

Search for categories such as:

  • Event management
  • Clubs
  • Sports clubs
  • Banquet/event venues
  • Cultural organizations
  • Training institutes
  • Music schools
  • Dance schools
  • Community organizations

Do not assume that every business listed on Google Maps is a prospect.

Check whether the organization actually organizes events, programmes, classes, competitions or activities where TicketLine.in could be useful.

4. Search Social Media

Many local events and organizations are more active on social media than on their own websites.

Look at platforms such as:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube

Search for:

  • Local events
  • Event announcements
  • Organizers
  • Clubs
  • Cultural programmes
  • Concerts
  • Competitions
  • Workshops
  • Seminars
  • Exhibitions
  • Festivals

When you find an event, try to identify who is actually organizing it. The event itself is not always the prospect—the organizer behind the event may be the real prospect.

5. Look for Upcoming Events

Upcoming events are often better prospects than organizations that have no visible upcoming activity.

Look for events scheduled in the coming weeks or months.

Examples:

  • Cultural programmes
  • Concerts
  • Theatre shows
  • Sports tournaments
  • Competitions
  • Workshops
  • Seminars
  • Conferences
  • Exhibitions
  • Fairs
  • Festivals
  • College events
  • Community programmes

Try to identify:

Who is organizing the event?
How can they be contacted?
Could TicketLine.in help them manage registration or ticketing?

6. Use Your Personal & Local Network

Do not depend only on internet searches.

Think about people and organizations you already know or can reach through your local network.

For example:

  • Friends involved in clubs
  • Local event organizers
  • Teachers and educational institutions
  • Sports organizers
  • Cultural groups
  • Business owners
  • Community leaders
  • Local associations
  • People involved in organizing festivals or programmes

A personal introduction can sometimes produce a much better prospect than a random online contact.

7. Identify the Right Person

Finding an organization is only the first step.

Where possible, try to identify the person responsible for organizing or managing the event.

Depending on the organization, this could be:

  • Event organizer
  • Secretary
  • President
  • Manager
  • Programme coordinator
  • Event manager
  • Marketing/Business Development person
  • Founder/Owner
  • Administrator

A lead with a relevant decision-maker’s contact information is generally more useful than a generic phone number.

What Makes a Good Prospect?

A good prospect should generally have:

✓ A real organization or organizer

✓ A relevant activity, event or programme

✓ A reasonable possibility of needing TicketLine.in

✓ Genuine and usable contact information

✓ A clear reason why TicketLine.in may be useful to them

For example:

A local cultural organization planning a paid programme next month and currently handling registrations manually.

This is a much stronger prospect than:

A random local business with a phone number.

What Is NOT a Good Prospect?

Avoid submitting:

  • Random phone numbers
  • Fake or unverified organizations
  • Businesses with no apparent connection to events or ticketing
  • Duplicate prospects
  • The same organization multiple times
  • Irrelevant businesses
  • Personal contacts who are not potential customers
  • Old events with no indication of future activity
  • Automatically generated or copied lists without verification

Do not create or submit information simply to meet a numerical target.

The quality and relevance of your prospects will be considered during evaluation.

Before You Submit a Prospect

Before adding a prospect to your list, ask yourself:

1. Who are they?

Can I identify the organization or organizer?

2. What do they do?

Do they organize events, programmes, activities or services relevant to TicketLine.in?

3. Why could they need TicketLine.in?

Can I explain the possible business opportunity?

4. Can I contact them?

Do I have a genuine and usable contact method?

5. Is the information reasonably current?

Is there evidence that the organization is active?

If you can answer these questions, you are probably looking at a useful prospect.

Quality Over Numbers

During the September evaluation, you will have specific lead-generation targets.

However, lead generation is not about collecting the largest possible number of contact details.

We want to see whether you can identify genuine potential customers.

A smaller list of well-researched prospects is more valuable than a large list of irrelevant or unverified contacts.

Your ability to find relevant prospects, understand their potential needs and approach them professionally will be an important part of the evaluation.

Start Exploring

Start with your local area and your existing network, then expand your search using Google, Google Maps and social media.

The more you understand TicketLine.in and its services, the easier it will become to recognize who could actually benefit from the platform.

Find the right prospect. Understand the opportunity. Then make the approach.
